The OZEV Grant Criteria
A criterion for each of these grants has to be met before the grant can be issued and only OZEV-approved installers can apply for this grant on behalf of the vehicle owner. Luckily for Green Electrical customers, our electricians are OZEV-approved so we can take away the hard work from you and apply for a grant on your behalf.
The OZEV grant criteria:
- You own an electric vehicle, have ordered an electric vehicle or have an electric vehicle leased or company car.
- You intend to keep the vehicle for 6 months or longer from the date you took keepership.
- Your property has off road parking such as a driveway or garage where you can park and charge the vehicle.
- Your installation date is less than 4 months ahead of the date of the delivery or start date of the vehicle’s use. If not then you need to contact OZEV requesting permission.
- Hybrid vehicles must have a CO2 emission score that is less than 75g/km. Please see our list of approved Electric and Hybrid vehicles specified by OZEV.
- EV charging point installation is carried out by an approved OLEV installer.
- You purchased or leased your electric or plug-in hybrid car from 1st October 2016.
Electric Vehicle Grants
The EV Chargepoint Grant
The EV Chargepoint Grant is a government initiative grant that is available to some electric and hybrid vehicle owners across the United Kingdom.
The grant means flat owner-occupiers and people living in rented properties could see 75% of the costs of purchasing and installing an EV home charging point be returned to them (capped to a maximum of £350).
By taking advantage of The EV Chargepoint Grant you can make your EV charging point installation substantially more affordable.

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)
The Workplace Charging Scheme, also known as WCS, allows UK businesses to apply for a grant for up to a maximum of 40 charging points, a saving of £14,000, with each charging unit being capped at £350.
Businesses considering applying for the WCS grant are not required to have a fleet of electric vehicles, but they are required to provide evidence for the need for electric vehicle charging points.
